What is the Roman Catholic Church's position on slavery?

frizby--lets not forget that St. Patrick was Roman until he was taken captive and held into slavery by the Irish for all those years and they were just doing what everyone there did at the time and what about all the priests and regular Catholics tortured and put to death there during Henry's reign
