Can you be the best when your highest test score ever is 248 against Bangladesh ?

With the underwhelming stats of a 136.67 average against Bangladesh, and an overall average of 56.91 no good as a captain,(Captained 25 Tests, won 5, lost 9) convicted of Ball tampering and a century in 1 in 5 innings. Tendulkar has a pretty good record but would only seriously be called the best by the same dellusional people that really do think India is the number one team (India have never won a series in Aust or RSA - and dont look like doing so). looking at the facts Tendulkar although good is no where near the best .... so who is ?
