Help!! I have a Road Trip from California to Florida.?

I am moving from Woodland Hills, CA to Ft. Lauderdale, FL by the end of January in a two seat convertible. Where should I stay on the way, what should I take with me and what places should I visit for awesome pics? Any advice is helpful!
